Hi there, I’m Matt Chasney. I’m a photojournalist, artist, educator and writer from Cleveland, Ohio. My work centers around the environment, politics, housing, class and all things Rust Belt culture. I hold a BA in History with a minor in Photography from Case Western Reserve University. I’m an adjunct photography instructor at Cuyahoga Community College and I am the recipient of a 2025 Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award in photography.
I love to photograph the ordinary, extraordinary day-to-day lives of working class people and families. I’m available for assignment anywhere in Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Eastern Kentucky.
